Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI)

    The primary objective of the fund is to contribute to the development of the powerloom and related textile sectors. SIDBI Venture Capital Fund Ltd., (SVCL) invests on behalf of Ministry of Textiles in the form of equity in MSMEs to kick start an enterprise/ expansion.

Scheme Benefits & Highlights
  • The Fund shall look for investing in companies involved in new and emerging fields in the textile industry and allied products and services. 
  • Maximum 50% of the project cost with a ceiling of Rs 3 crore is invested by SVCL. (SIDBI Venture Capital Fund Ltd.)
  • Investments will typically be in innovative private powerloom MSME companies.
  • Investments would be made of the equity shares and/or instruments convertible into equity of Textile Micro and Small Enterprises.

  • Strong and committed core team: SVCL looks for management teams having demonstrated performance track record, commitment and energy.
  • High scalability and non-cyclical business: SVCL aims to invest in promising businesses having potential for sustainable high growth rates. Sectors preferred should be relatively insulated from periodic downturn of the economy.
  • Sustainable competitive advantage: SVCL prefers to invest in innovative business models with a sustainable competitive advantage.
  • A clear exit plan: SVCL seeks to invest in ventures with clear strategy for exit within a reasonable time period in order to create and realize the value in the investment.

    SCVL will invests in innovative business models in the  the powerloom and textile related business models with a good management team.

    The projects should have a new products and technologies or innovative business model which have the potential to bring superior value proposition to the customers will be given preference.
