When the COVID-19 pandemic struck, it was a period of great uncertainty but also of immense opportunity. Witnessing the struggles of many talented individuals who were unable to find employment due to various barriers, we felt compelled to act. This inspired the birth of SaiRa—a platform dedicated to bridging the gap between talent and opportunity, particularly for back-to-work women, PwDs, and senior citizens. We embrace the concept of WFA (Work from Anywhere, Work for Anyone). We noticed that as soon as people turned 60, organizations were no longer employing them, or worse, they were being fired. Similarly, women who took career breaks were often considered unemployable. Organizations were not open to hiring individuals with career breaks. We realized that age, career breaks, and disabilities were often unfairly held against capable individuals, preventing them from contributing their valuable skills and experiences to the workforce. For PwD, we realized that the inherent prejudices of employers or interviewers often prevented them from being placed in jobs, leading to their abilities being untapped. Looking ahead, we are excited to extend our efforts to veterans and the LGBTQIA community.
