It was 2016 when I opened this venture of PRAYOGik (Experiment) to start the solutions in the oil and gas industries by providing a highly reliable standalone remote power supply for their unmanned offshore platforms, remote oil wells, and harsh environments where moving parts are a big maintenance issue in terms of cost, remote offshore platforms, and remote oil wells. We have started working towards the idea of generating power without any moving parts, and the first approach is the obvious solar power system. We have worked with BHEL Bhopal, LTHE, and ONGC for one and a half years and realized that solar power systems are a good renewable solution but have a limited life of less than 10 years. A day-time solution only results in huge battery banks of 20, 00 Ah with a huge steel structure, making the whole system so bulky. We stopped working on the solar power system to think of how we, as engineers, can provide a better solution that can provide power 24 x 7 x 365, irrespective of any location from -40 °C to +70 °C, without any moving parts, and that can be run by available resources. After all these validations, we have broadened our vision of how it can be useful to society as a as a direct consumer without using LPG or CNG, and due to this pandemic from 2020–21, we have come up with a solution called Biomass Gasifier Based FCSG-DC, which is a portable gas-based generator that works from renewable biodegradable fuel, i.e., waste like agriculture crop residue, sawdust pellets, vegetables, and other biomass that can be easily converted to gas constituents and that gas can be converted to electricity.
Problem: Lack of energy access for remote villages. Agricultural waste is a collective term that is used for all the non-economic substances produced by agricultural operations, such as roots, crop residue, livestock waste, etc. The negative effects of biodegradable waste on the environment include pollution, greenhouse gas emissions, and soil degradation. There are health risks associated with improper disposal of biodegradable waste, including the spread of diseases and contamination of water sources.

Our integrated solution comprises a biomass gasifier and FCSG-DC on a single skid, which will be a portable gas-based generator that works on biodegradable waste. It is a renewable-based cleantech product suitable for household applications. Solid acid fuel cells (SAFCs) are characterized using a solid acid material as the electrolyte. At low temperatures, solid acids have an ordered molecular structure like most salts. At warmer temperatures (between 140 and 150 °C for CsHSO4), some solid acids undergo a phase transition to become highly disordered "super protonic" structures, which increase conductivity by several orders of magnitude. Biomass Gasifier Gasification is a process that converts organic or fossil-based carbonaceous materials at high temperatures (>700 °C) without combustion with a controlled amount of oxygen and/or steam into carbon monoxide, hydrogen, and carbon dioxide. The carbon monoxide then reacts with water to form carbon dioxide and more hydrogen via a water-gas shift reaction. Absorbers or special membranes can separate the hydrogen from this gas stream.
