House Technologies began with a vision to address the critical need for indigenous drone technology in India. Our co-founder, Shivam Gupta, a dropout from Delhi Technological University with a background in mathematical and computing engineering, leveraged his experience with other startups to lay the foundation for House Technologies in 2022. Alongside a dedicated team, including hardware expert Dilshad Habib from Jamia Millia Islamia and CFO Anshu Gupta, we focused on creating drones that offered not only advanced surveillance capabilities but also secure data transmission. Our breakthrough came with the development of our Minimum Viable Product (MVP), a micro-category surveillance drone. One of our unique selling points is our proprietary video and data transmission system. Our market research indicated a substantial opportunity within the defence sector, with the total addressable market (TAM) valued at $1.28 billion in FY22. We identified key target markets, including forest departments, anti-Naxal forces, and other defence and armed forces, and positioned our drones to meet their specific needs.
Problem Identified: In India, there is a significant lack of domestically produced, customizable drone technology tailored to meet the specific needs of the Indian defence forces and other security agencies. The existing market is dominated by foreign-made drones and products that do not fully align with the unique requirements of local defence operations, especially in terms of data security and adaptability to various mission profiles. This dependency on foreign technology poses risks to national security and limits operational efficiency. Furthermore, the available drones often fail to integrate seamlessly with indigenous navigation systems like Navic (IRNSS), and their data transmission networks are not optimized for the stringent data security norms required by defence forces.
Solution Offered:
1. Indigenous Technology: We manufacture drones locally, ensuring they are customized to meet the specific operational needs of Indian defence forces.
2. Secure Data Transmission: Our drones feature a proprietary video and data transmission system, providing total control over the drone’s operations.
3. Customization and Control: Unlike other Indian companies that integrate off-the-shelf products, our solution is built from the ground up, giving us complete control over the drone's functionalities. This allows for seamless integration with Navic (IRNSS) and future modifications as needed.
4. Market Validation and Proven Reliability: We have successfully developed and delivered our Minimum Viable Product (MVP), receiving positive feedback from key stakeholders, including the Anti-Naxal Forces in Maharashtra, the Indian Army, and the Aditya Birla Group's Grasim.
House Technologies specializes in manufacturing surveillance drones with proprietary, indigenous technology. Our drones provide secure, long-range video and data transmission, ensuring complete data security and operational control. Designed to meet the specific needs of Indian defence forces, our drones support reconnaissance, surveillance, and security operations. They are equipped with advanced features such as integration with Navic (IRNSS) and compliance with data security norms, making them ideal for defence, public safety, and environmental monitoring applications.
Enhancing national security: By providing drones that are tailored to the specific needs of Indian defence forces, we ensure better surveillance, reconnaissance, and security operations.
Promoting Indigenous Technology: Our focus on indigenous technology supports the Make in India initiative, contributing to the country's technological sovereignty and reducing dependency on foreign technology.
Data Security and Control: Our drones offer unparalleled data security by using locally developed transmission networks and ensuring that all data centres are within India's geographical boundaries. By maintaining full control over our drone systems, we eliminate vulnerabilities associated with third-party components, thus providing a secure and reliable solution.
