Incubators play a vital role in nurturing the aspiring entrepreneurs and providing them valuable resources, mentoring and capacity building in the initial stages of their entrepreneurial journey. They are critical in transforming ideas to successful businesses.
Accelerators assist growth stage startups scale up efficiently. The National Startup Awards will also reward exceptional Incubators and Accelerators, as they are key building blocks of a robust startup ecosystem.
The recognised entities will benefit from such recognition, not only in terms of being able to attract more business, financing, partnerships, and talent, but also enable them to serve as a role model for other entities, and to inspire them to be purposeful and responsible about their socio-economic impact.
The National Startup Awards had 192 finalists and 36 winners. This premium count was churned from a pool of 1,641 applications.
15 panels were organized that comprised of 60 distinguished jury members to identify the above winners.
Identifying and Celebrating Innovations across 12 sectors and 35 sub-sectors
The winners were announced through a felicitation ceremony held on the 6th of October 2020, by Hon’ble Minister of Railways and Commerce and Industry, and Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Shri Piyush Goyal, in the presence of Hon’ble Minister of State for Commerce & Industry, Shri Som Parkash. All 192 finalists of NSA 2020 are being handheld across 9 tracks through various Startup India initiatives.
Identifying and Celebrating Innovations across 15 sectors, 49 sub-sectors and 6 special categories
Despite the challenging times, Indian Startup ecosystem has showcased unprecedent resilience and zest for innovation which have been playing an important role in propelling nation’s socio-economic growth trajectory. As a successor to the first edition, National Startup Awards 2021 shall recognise and reward outstanding startups and enablers which have demonstrated exceptional capabilities not just in terms of financial gains but also for the measurable impact for the society.
NSA 2021 also aims to cover flagship schemes launched by Government of India through innovations in corresponding areas, thereby solving community problems at large. Consideration is also being given to champion sectors identified by Government of India with a focus on improving India’s manufacturing capabilities towards the mission of an “Atma Nirbhar Bharat”.
