The environment conditions determine the efficiency of operations and in turn the quality of assets. Therefore, continuous 24x7 monitoring of environmental conditions can be a stated goal to measure the operation efficiency. Examples can be maintaining warehouses conditions inside prescribed temperature limits, the weather condition in field and humidity levels inside climate controlled agriculture production.

Problem being addressed

Farming remains to be the backbone of developing countries and it is the principal source of livelihood for a majority of the population in these countries. Farmers, however, use antiquated techniques which lead to either overuse or under usage of fertilizers and water which leads to disastrous yields. While countries like USA use automated drone based crop diagnosis, small land holdings in India prevents the need of such technology and intensive farming. Extensive coverage of 4G network in remote Indian villages has created the demand and infrastructure for India specific farm advisory technology.

Exploration and extraction operations of fossil based energy resources like petroleum, natural gas as well as the newer non-conventional resources like coal bed methane, shale gas and gas hydrates, generates significant amount of waste water, also known as produced water (PW). There are reports that indicate in some of the oil fields for every barrel of oil there is over 90 barrels of PW generated. The management of PW thus incurs significant resources to the energy companies. In addition to the staggering volumes generated per day, PW has unique characteristics in its constituents. Thus, the conventional treatment processes fail not only to handle the volumes, but also in meeting the regulatory standards of the effluent due to its unique composition.

Problem being addressed

Pure Paani aims to address the problem of low-income residents in Bangalore lacking affordable, convenient access to clean drinking water. Reverse osmosis and gravity filtration systems are often too expensive or slow for low-income families. While bottled water brands offer convenience, they are often more expensive per-volume than most reverse osmosis systems. Finally, while water ATMs are making significant headway in these communities, they are yet to be implemented widely and are prone to frequent break downs. As a consequence, of the roughly 10.8 million inhabitants in Bangalore, 1.4 million boil their water routinely while 1.2 million take the risk of not treating their water at all. About 76 million people in India and 844 million people globally live without clean water. This market is underserved because the existing solutions are not tailored to the needs of the poor.
