over the past few years, the indian startup ecosystem has witnessed remarkable growth with significant developments on multiple fronts. treading on the path to a consistently evolving startup ecosystem, india achieved a landmark feat in december 2024, with more than 1,57,000 certificates issued for startup recognition by startup india, department for promotion of industry and internal trade (dpiit).

ever since the launch of the startup india initiative in january 2016 by the hon’ble prime minister, the indian startup ecosystem has had an inspiring journey. to capture the journey that has led india to achieve the milestone of more than 1,57,000 startups, startup india has launched a detailed factbook.
